The Kind of Kingdom I Wanted for The Eternal Prince

When I imagined the world of The Eternal Prince, I never wanted a kingdom that felt polished and empty.

I wanted somewhere that looked beautiful from a distance but became stranger the closer you walked toward it.

Old Roads and Older Walls

The kingdom is built around places that feel lived in: stone paths, forests, gates, towers, villages and palace grounds. I like the idea that every road could lead somewhere important, even if the reader does not know why yet.

A kingdom should feel larger than the page.

There should always be another room, another road or another story somewhere beyond what can currently be seen.

Light Against Darkness

One of my favorite visual contrasts is warm light inside a dark environment.

A palace window glowing through rain. Lanterns reflecting on wet stone. A distant village at night. A road disappearing into a forest.

That contrast became part of how I imagine The Eternal Prince.

The darkness creates mystery, but the light makes the world feel alive.

A Place Worth Returning To

More than anything, I wanted the kingdom to feel memorable.

Not simply as a background for Alexander and Elizabeth, but as a place readers could recognize on its own.

The kind of world where one image of a gate, tower, forest or rainy road is enough to make someone think:

The Eternal Prince.
